Beauty Talk: NARS Blushes

IMG_1360After a sudden surge of temptation, I finally gave in and decided to deplete my finances by purchasing two NARS blushes. Below is my review on what to expect with these two NARS shades: Mata Hari (“rose petal pink”) and Orgasm (“peachy pink with golden shimmer”).

NARS Mata Hari is a dark matte pink with cool raspberry undertones. This color is perfect for darker skin shades as it shows up without any effort. Lighter skin shades can also rock this highly pigmented blush with a light handed application. Initially, the product feels powdery in the container but it has a soft and easy to blend application.

IMG_1373NARS Orgasm is a beautiful peachy pink shade with strong golden shimmer. The color of this blush is similar to that of MAC Springsheen. Furthermore, the Orgasm blush is decently pigmented but the color pay-off is not as obvious as other NARS blushes (e.g. Mata Hari). Nevertheless, I believe that all complexions can enjoy this shade. ALSO, you don’t have to be afraid of the shimmer because the blush doesn’t apply sparkles all over your face but rather provides an orgasmic sheen. The amazing sex glow?

Overall, my verdict is that one should invest in a NARS blush because besides the obvious color pay off, these blushes seem to have a much more contemporary and travel friendly packaging than other blushes in the market today.

Orgasm would be my preference. Which NARS blush do you love?

Get Ready With Me: Bright Blue Eyes

Hello, my kind blog readers. I have a bright blue eyes tutorial for you today! I really wanted to re-use this front cover eye shadow palette and with Holi (the festival of colors) in India, I went for the bright blues! This is completely different from my every day subtle eyeshadow and which is why I wanted to do it. This look is perfect for festivals, night-outs or just for the love of colors. Hope you like!1

Step 1: Primer: Prime your lids with an eye primer, concealer or foundation. Something sticky! Using Natural Collection Concealer.

Step 2: Applying color with a flat brush till the crease. Front Cover palette color in Mermaid.

Step 3: Using a blending brush by Eco Tools to blend any harsh lines created.

Step 4: Packing on the color Bayou from the Front Cover palette with a flat brush on just the eye lid– exposing Mermaid.

Step 5: Using an emerald kohl pencil by Chambor for lower lid, using a MAC liner in smolder & using Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara to finish the eyes.

Hope you guys enjoyed the look & wish you’ll a very happy Holi!

Current Favourites

Favorites

Hey, guys! Wanted to share my current favourite items with you that I have been using over and over again. The beauty products I have been using are mostly pink-toned or cool-toned because I have been feeling bold and experimenting with several cooler and darker colours. So far so fun! The other items on the list are products that overall enhance my look and make me feel oh-so-fabulous!

1) Chanel Blush in Horizon: Highly pigmented iridescent pink powder. Perfect for spring!

2) Prada Shades: Protects from the unbearable Indian summer. The simplistic design and shape make it an easy-to-wear everyday-essential.

3) MAC Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Shop & Drop’: Though I don’t enjoy all the colours in this palette, I can’t live without ‘Hypnotizing’ (the Silver Frost with pink undertones).

4) Body Shop Lip Balm: The peach fragrance is orgasmic. Also, this lip balm adds a perfect gloss on bare lips and over lip products. Not a sticky situation!

5) John Frieda Hair Serum: Perfect for frizz control. The light fragrance and transparent gel does not leave your hair damp, oily or heavy. Instead smoothens with ease.

6) MAC Lip Pencil in ‘Magenta’: This lip colour is perfect for experimenting with subtle purple lips. Also, used by me under many pigmented dark pinks.

7) Lancome Mascara ‘Doll Eyes’: Great mascara for creating a toned-down fake lashes look. Adds more length than volume.

8) Miss Dior Eau De Parfum: A very distinct smell with notes of mandarin, Bulgarian rose absolute, Turkish rose absolute, patchouli, amber and vanilla. Smells like sex on a Christmas night to me! Also, has a hint of talcum powder aroma.

There you have it! This is what I have been loving.

I would love to know what are your current favourite and essential products. Leave me a comment below 🙂
